“I hold onto these things because they are what’s left of those days when I was too busy to see how quickly they were passing.”

—so many people try to convey what you write so elegantly

But they're so fun to look at when you have a "few minutes." But you know those few minutes will turn into an afternoon or two, so you don't bother. Or you do bother and you toss out a few items. The rest go back in the boxes for later.

Yup. That’s the trap (or blessing).

Thanks for keeping my secret. Let me know when you figure out how to get our kids to take some of it. Even we don't want the plates or the play programs, but I just can't throw out the hand print turkeys.

Love how well you see us. A piece of our identity and our heart lives in those dusty boxes. And sometimes a miracle happens. My 10-year old granddaughter spent hours of a recent visit looking at old picture albums and asking questions. She didn’t ask for screen time. When her mother came to get her they both went through the books taking pictures of the most meaningful photos. Legacy?

The small things that carry the emotional weight... of aspiration, of generational knowledge... this one hit home T❤️
